How to Calculate Concrete for a Slab
Use the slab formula: concrete volume equals length times width times thickness. For US measurements, convert thickness from inches to feet before multiplying.
Cubic yards = cubic feet / 27
Thickness in feet = thickness in inches / 12
Example: 10x10 slab at 4 inches
10 x 10 x 0.333 = 33.3 cubic feet. 33.3 / 27 = 1.23 cubic yards. With 10% waste, order about 1.36 cubic yards.
